AIA-Waste[ED] Event Selected Project
Facing the dual challenges of pollution and global warming, this innovative project aims to redefine the role of an incinerator on Staten Island, transforming it from an isolated waste facility to a vibrant community hub. Located between the St. George Ferry Terminal and Staten Island Urby Apartments, the initiative not only addresses waste management through incineration but also integrates sustainable design to convert trash into green energy. This energy will support the local community, effectively bridging the gap between urban infrastructure and resident needs while fostering a sustainable future.
